Winter sun and Hodsock Priory? It’s a dream combination for a November wedding. Amber and James put their own stamp on their stylish big day at our Nottinghamshire country house wedding venue. From the beautiful ‘bringing the outside in’ florals to the sweet sparkler send-off and a ‘help yourself’ doughnut station, there’s so much to love about this super-chic celebration. If you’re planning a winter wedding, this is all the inspiration you need. Thank you to Fly On The Wall Photography for capturing the day so perfectly.

The country house wedding venue
Set on the Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire border, Hodsock Priory is a stately home wedding venue with the wow factor. Seamlessly blending period style with contemporary luxury vibes, it’s an exclusive setting for a chic countryside wedding, whatever time of year. The acres of rolling countryside views and elegant formal gardens provided the most beautiful backdrop for Amber and Jame’s November wedding at Hodsock Priory.

Immersive wedding flowers
Hodsock Priory’s Buchanan Hall was transformed into a floral wonderland for the couple’s wedding ceremony. A circle frame draped with foliage and blooms created a focal point at the top of the aisle, while tall displays of wildflowers in a mix of purple, pink, coral and red added a whimsical splash of colour.

These stunning displays were moved into the Pavilion for the bride and groom’s wedding breakfast, continuing with the day’s ‘bringing the outside in’ vibe. With sunlight streaming in through the dining room’s floor-to-ceiling windows, and the gardens just outside, the effect was beautifully immersive.

Amber’s elegant winter bridal style
Amber looked incredible in her slinky, cowlneck satin bridal gown. Paired with a full-length 3D appliqué tulle veil, red lip and floral cuff, it was a gorgeous, contemporary look for her winter wedding at Hodsock Priory.

James looked sharp in his dark navy suit and deep red tie, and the bridesmaids dressed in red satin maxi dresses, to bring the seasonal colour scheme together perfectly.

The ‘dinner party’ style wedding reception
Amber and James chose long dining tables for their wedding breakfast, which were perfect for creating an intimate yet social ‘dinner party’ feel. Small floral displays lined the white tablecloths, with elevated displays adding a sense of drama and occasion.

Dark red napkins gave a nod to the couple’s big day colour scheme, and gold charger plates pulled the look together. Guests were treated to personalised miniature whiskey bottles and iced biscuits as thoughtful wedding favours. We think The Pavilion looked absolutely magical, all dressed up for Amber and Jame’s wedding breakfast.

Fireworks and wedding sparklers
If there’s a better way to kick off your evening wedding celebrations than with a ‘help yourself’ doughnut station, we want to hear about it! Guests were spoiled with a delicious display of gourmet doughnuts before the party really got started.

Making the most of Hodsock Priory’s garden and the clear November skies, Amber and James handed out sparklers to their guests – and we just love how the photos turned out. A spectacular silent fireworks display lit up the skies over Hodsock Priory, as the couple wrapped up a truly unforgettable wedding.
