Our bride and groom, Hollie and Haris, brought the colour to Hodsock Priory with a vibrant pink and coral themed big day. Their summer wedding was a super-stylish, romantic celebration, packed with cool touches and a fun vibe. If you’re looking for inspiration for your own summer wedding, you won’t want to miss this. Thank you to Urban Photo Lab for capturing the day so beautifully.
The luxury Midlands wedding venue
Hodsock Priory is spectacular whatever the season, but in summer it really shines. Here, the formal gardens come to life in a kaleidoscope of colours, with heady floral fragrances filling the air. Surrounded by 800 acres of rolling fields, tucked away on the Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire border, Hodsock is an idyllic setting for your wedding. The house and gardens are all exclusive use, meaning the whole of this luxe venue is yours for the day. Go on, make yourself at home!
Modern-day princess bridal style
A venue with this much wow-factor deserves a dress to match, and our bride Hollie looked incredible in her modern-day princess gown. Featuring delicate spaghetti straps, a low scooped back and dramatic ruffled tulle skirt, this was a contemporary take on bridal fairytale style. We love it! Hollie finished her look with a statement tiara, veil and simple pearl necklace. The most incredible Manolo heels acted as the chicest ‘something blue’.
The summer wedding flowers
Hollie and Haris’ choice of wedding flowers really brought the modern, colour-pop style of their big day together. They opted for an eclectic mix of blooms in various shades of pink, peach and coral. Everything from peonies and roses to hydrangeas and dahlias came together to create a gorgeously textured, ‘just picked from the meadow’ feel. Large floral displays framed the gazebo, while delicate posies brought a splash of colour to tables. Hollie and her bridesmaids all carried colourful bouquets which looked striking against their white dresses.
The romantic outdoor ceremony
Our bride and groom had their hearts set on an outdoor wedding ceremony, and Hodsock Priory’s elegant Georgian-style gazebo provided the prettiest setting for their vows. Surrounded by close family and friends, our couple said their ‘I do’s in a tranquil corner of our formal gardens. With the sun shining and the sound of birds singing, it was the perfect backdrop to an unforgettable ceremony.
contemporary reception style
Hodsock Priory’s spacious Pavilion provided a chic, minimalist setting for Hollie and Haris wedding breakfast. Filled with natural light, the Pavilion gave our couple plenty of scope to add their own design touches. Filling the space with more colour-pop blooms, our reception room was given a vibrant, modern makeover, perfectly in tune with our bride and groom’s couple style.
Tables were dressed simply with tall white candles in dainty hurricane vases, small posies of flowers and table names featuring black and white photos of our couple over the years. The overall vibe was summery, modern and very, very stylish.
Personal big day touches
We love it when couples put their own stamp on their big day, and Hollie and Haris were no exception. Guests were greeted with fans on each seat for the alfresco ceremony (very much needed thanks to the glorious summer sunshine) and, instead of a traditional order of ceremony, our couple left out unique ‘newspapers’ detailing how they met, as well as a timeline of the wedding day.
Of course Hollie and Haris made the most of the sunshine with a much-welcome ice cream stand outside, with help-yourself toppings and sauces.
They made sure their guests were in the mood to party with an elegant cocktail hour, complete with his and her’s cocktails. The three-tiered heart-shaped wedding cake was a massive hit with guests. We love the intricate piping and quirky style – just right for the coolest of couples.
