Hodsock Priory absolutely wowed in the gorgeous summer sunshine for Vanessa and Martin’s August big day. From the bride’s chic boho-luxe style to the unforgettable fireworks display to end the day, everything about this wedding was filled with unique couple style. All captured perfectly by Chris Smith Photography.
The morning of the wedding
Vanessa chose to get ready at Hodsock, booking the Honeymoon Suite for a relaxed start to her big day. Once she was ready, our bride surprised her bridesmaids with a ‘first look’. And their reaction to seeing their friend in her wedding dress for the first time was priceless!
Vanessa’s bohemian wedding style
Our beautiful bride Vanessa channelled a boho-luxe vibe in the most breath-taking fitted lace gown. Featuring spaghetti straps, deep-V neckline, low back and flowing train, this was a dress that seriously brought the wow-factor. Vanessa wore her long hair in loose, relaxed waves, with a cathedral lace tulle veil adding a romantic touch. Paired with her oversized bouquet of textured roses and trailing eucalyptus, the overall look was cool, contemporary and utterly stunning.
In the evening, Vanessa opted for an outfit change to signal the start of the party. Swapping her long gown for a white mini, block heels and ‘Just Married’ leather jacket, she really got the chance to show off her personal style.
Martin wore a three-piece suit, complete with grey double-breasted waistcoat, which fitted in seamlessly with the elegant surroundings of historic Hodsock Priory.
The alfresco gazebo wedding ceremony
Vanessa and Martin chose to make the most of the glorious August weather and exchange their vows in an outdoor ceremony at Hodsock. Our Georgian-style gazebo provided an idyllic setting for the couple’s ‘I do’s. Dressed with a floral border and tall all-white floral displays, this secluded corner of Hodsock’s gardens created an intimate space for a truly romantic ceremony.
Afterwards, guests caught up over glasses of champagne in the formal gardens. They were also treated to a delicious ice cream station, complete with a fabulous choice of ‘help yourself’ toppings and sauces.
Classic reception style at Hodsock
Our couple chose to hold their wedding breakfast in the light and spacious Pavilion at Hodsock. This elegant space is perfect for summer weddings, with direct access onto the Italian terrace.
Vanessa and Martin embraced a stylish, pared-back look for the décor, letting the high ceilings and chic panelling of the reception space do the talking. Tables were dressed with simple touches of gold for a beautiful, uncluttered look. Elevated, textured floral displays and the sun streaming through the floor to ceiling windows gave the effect of bringing the outside in. It was a classic, contemporary space perfect for celebrating this stylish couple.
Hodsock Priory wedding photos
The sun came out for our bride and groom as they snuck away for some newlywed photographs. The picturesque countryside setting offered plenty of opportunity for stunning photos outside, while the period interiors of Hodsock Priory were flooded with natural light, helping to capture some unforgettable shots.
The evening reception at Hodsock
Once Vanessa has changed into her pearl-detail bridal mini dress, it was time to get the evening party started. We love the sweet sparkler send-off photographs which really capture our couple’s sense of fun. The spectacular day was rounded off with silent fireworks lighting up the sky, after the sun had gone down.
